Help
My feet can’t move any faster
My body is growing tired
I don’t know how much longer I can
Run in these circles that dictate my life
I’ve let myself be chased by these
Ghosts and vampires
That thirst for my blood
Trying to bring my ultimate demise

My lungs are on fire
I’m wheezing harder and harder
In desperate attempts to
Force oxygen in
But to no avail
My head is spinning, pounding
My vision is starting to blur

I’ve found temporary shelter
In some run-down shack near the river
The door slams behind me
As I fall to the floor
It doesn’t matter, though
I’m still being chased
They’re still coming for me
They still want me dead

They’ve smelled my fear
From miles away
The door creaks open
Moonlight rushes in the empty gap
They’re so close
Tasting the anxiety pouring down my neck
And I’m running again
One last burst of energy
Before my body gets sucked into the night

I’ve collapsed from exhaustion
I can’t move at all
These horrible monsters are gaining on me
About to make me
One with the darkness
I’ve given up hope
As the last breath escapes my lungs
And I fade to black
